The only reason the Leafs would do this is if they can’t afford Liljegren anymore and they are confident Cowan can make the lineup (or, there just isn’t a spot for Robertson).

People are going to laugh at this trade, but this is exactly what Ottawa would want to acquire over the off-season. They’re both young, cost-controlled, and fit their timeline perfectly. Vlaue-wise, I think both would individually return a mid to high 2nd round pick, but a let first round pick would suffice.
