I think so too. If they can get either Mason or Hellebyuck to be a starter.

They will. Too much talent not to. One game doesn't change the season. Even the underlying metrics looked good for Winnipeg. Expected goals for were 3.8 for the Jets and 3.7 for the Leafs so you'd anticipate that the game would be close but the Jets actually should have won more often then not.

Team just couldn't buy a goal early and then because it was the home opener, and the Leafs and the raised expectations of the entire organization they got out of their game, took chances and got burned. If the Jets from the first 15 minutes of that game show up all season they may not just make the playoffs but could win the division.

I do love being the underdog though so keep this to yourselves. Tell everyone the Jets suck.
