also the value there isnt the biggest deal. Its more to show San Jose makes sense for him to add cap, make their bottom 6 better and he wouldnt have on his NTC
      SJS
Obviously NYR save some money year one of buyout but long term that few hundred K isnt worth it

Would you upgrade that to a First if in addition to taking on Goody the Sharks sent back Duclair?

Especially if Kakko doesn't come back for a while (and because he hasn't played like a top 6 forward this year when healthy) I could see him adding some value on the wing for a cup run.

        I'd say it will cost a little more like a 2nd and a 3rd
If 1yr at 5mil cost a 2nd rounder (Josh Bailey buyout from NYI to the Hawks) Than 3yrs at 3.4mil should be about a 3rd a year so three 3rds
I think a 2nd can make up the value of about 2 3rds but not 3
        Just my opinion though

Im not a fan of either team and I have this as 2024 summer. I think a 1st+Goodrow for Duclair trade is a good framework for 2024 TDL though, if Goodrow does not have SJS on his NTC

I think thats fair, only difference is goodrow is still a good bottom 6er, Bailey sucked. If goodrow got bought out hed immediately get signed again. I think it would be more likely to see him get flipped again for positive assets, potentially with retention

Maybe but, Sharks can't really retain on a Goodrow trade next year. They have Karlsson for another 3years after this one (I think maybe more) and Burns ending after next season. Trading Goodrow would occupy all of their retentions and they would need to hold him for another year after the next, again occupying 2 of 3 spots but, they might do it anyway, they're all over place and hard to predict lol
