Sucks that Quinn will be out of the lineup to start. The Sabres will have a very strong forward corps once he returns from injury.

Is Bryson really gonna be in the lineup? He's an incredibly weak NHLer and most certainly a liability even if deployed in very sheltered minutes.
I get that Lyubushkin, Jokiharju and Stillman aren't exactly good (or average even) NHLers either, but surely one of them has to be a better option for the Sabres than Bryson?

I don't think that Stillman is better than Bryson. And the other two are right-handed defensemen. Although I think they should've save the Erik Johnson money for a left-handed defenseman instead.

Iirc the 2019 - 2022 Lighting teams had a D handedness imbalance weighing on their left side. They ran McDonough, Hedman and Sergachev all on the left with comparatively weaker RHD partners (apart from Cernak). Hedman had most 5v5 minutes played together with Jan Rutta in that time period I believe.
I wonder if the Sabres shouldn't consider doing something similar by splitting Power, Dahlin and Samuelsson up to all play on separate pairs. Feel like that could suit the Sabres quite well.

Sammy and dahlin will be together. Power will most likely be with Clifton or joker if he's not traded. Two right handed dmen on the bottom pair wouldn't be the end of the world.
