Nathan Horton will offer great veteran presence and leadership needed to guide these young Leafs to the next level. And if Lupul could just stay healthy he might be the difference maker.

Maybe you could trade Lupul for Crosby too! I'm sure Pitt would even retain 3M of his salary to fit under the cap as well

Why Lupul? They still got another rental in Bozak. They could've found a guy in AHL to play a 4th line role to add value in return for those takers. That is if I've got the trend up here correctly

It would seem if the Leafs wanted leadership, they should sign UFA George Armstrong who captained the Leafs to their last Cup. And sign Johnny Bower too to play net. Makes as much sense as the trades proposed.
