Description
2 things about this team;

1- This is the same as a team I made a day or two ago, and only features minor adjustments, the returning assets are the same for the most part except for

2- I wanted to mention that I am aware Schwartz is a good player and is more valuable than what the score sheet says, I'm just a Schwartz hater. The contract he's on is such a tough, not because he's not worth it, but because it just doesn't fit the direction this team is going, and with so many young players who need contracts and top 6 ice time, I find it difficult to believe Seattle won't try moving him.

The Peeke trade is the main concern for me. I had a trade that I felt was maybe an overpay, and I also think Columbus might try to double down on trying to make this team good with guys like Gaudreau, Laine, Gudbranson, Jenner, and Merzlinkins are all still on board for another 4 years minimum.

I adjusted the Wennberg trade, mainly because I doubt the Blues except Wennberg with his 4.5 mil cap hit. I'm willing to adjust picks.

Columbus declines easily, they have no use for another wing, what they really need is a true top like center and for their d prospects, like Peeke, to grow into their potential.

Also there’s a reason we gave Seattle Bjorkstrand so cheaply and willingly last offseason.

Even with retention the Blues are not going to pay that much in draft capital for Wennberg. There’s not a massive need for him.

We took on cap last season for essentially free at low cost contracts for positions we needed to fill. It’s not a master plan of taking on guys with retention to flip them at the deadline, and this certainly wouldn’t qualify as that because I’m not sure Wennberg received a 2nd+ at double retention at the deadline anyways.

Again, the Blues have no use or cap for Wennberg.

Exactly.

Columbus wings that need a top-9 role next year: Gaudreau, Laine, Johnson (unless he moves to C), Marchenko, Texier, Chinakhov.
Columbus wings that need to somehow fit into the last two spots: Robinson, Bemstrom, Olivier, Danforth
Columbus centers that need to fit that could push a wing out: Jenner, Sillinger, Foudy, Kuraly, Roslovic, (Bedard, Fantilli, or Carlsson hopefully).

If Columbus makes a move for a wing, they have to be a huge upgrade, a high prospect, cheap, or a tradeable UFA, and Schwartz isn't any of those.
