I still think Drai will be more expensive if it's an 8 year extension. Kuznetsov is this year's comparable at 8x7.8 and Draisaitl is younger and better. I'm betting an 8 year deal is at least 8 million per, but the Oilers might be smarter to give him a one or two year deal if they plan on playing him as the 2C consistently. Then they'd have a better idea of what his 5v5 production looks like as the driver of his own line.

nope. he has no leverage, in fact 7.5 is probably too much. every year RFA players are rumoured to be asking for absurd amounts of money and never get it.
