Description
Murray isn't the impact young D the Avs covet so Columbus has to give up a bit more. CBJ gets a couple depth players to strengthen their roster even more for a deep playoff run and a conditional 2nd if Duchene doesn't resign. Duchene between Panarin and Atkinson is a perfect scenario for Duchene to return close to point per game form. He should easily put up 70+ points on a good team so why wouldn't he want to resign? Duchene is the kind of player that could put a team over the top.

Pass from Columbus. You can have Murray and a second round pick. If they give up any more than that I'll be disappointed. I'd rather keep the prospects.

awful deal for COL. Murray is barely a bottom pairing defender

Nice idea and with a few tweaks, this could be a realistic NHL trade. Off the top of my head, I'm guessing CLB has to send salary back. I'd also think they wouldn't want to part with PLD. So maybe swap out PLD for a 1st and some salary, like Calvert. Does Comeau really have value? Seems like just more salary CLB would have to absorb for a bottom-six forward. Maybe delete him too.

Seems like Columbus is in pretty deep in talks for Duchene. I don't know what other D they'd be willing to give up. I wouldn't be satisfied with Murray as the key piece coming back either but its a starting point. Which is why Columbus includes thier top prospect and another young D. What woukd you want from CBJ?
