Id probably prefer just a straight 2nd from one of the other interested parties in CDH.

Yeah, I wouldn't do nearly any of those trades as a Kings fan.

Arizona -- It makes no sense to send Anderson out for Chychrun. We're trying to solidify the left side and there's still a hole if you send out Mikey.
Chicago -- If you don't do Chychrun, you don't go for CHD.
Columbus -- I've never been a fan of Max Domi's game, so that's just a straight no for me to begin with.
New York -- I guess this is the only one I'd do. AA isn't coming back next year so I'd part with him at the deadline instead of losing him for nothing.

I agree with our fellow Kings fan @PuckLuck_77 all the way down the line (which will come as no surprise to anyone). We shouldn't be trading any LD in an exchange for Chychrun, because next year our left side with him but after losing Edler and Maatta will be Chychrun, Anderson and Bjornfot and then depth guys coming up out of Ontario. To put it another way, why force yourself to make two moves (De Haan) instead of one?

Domi doesn't give us anything that we don't already have with Arvidsson, Iafallo, Kempe and Moore, plus Kaliyev and our other options on the third and fourth lines (including Brown).

I'd get anything we can for Athanasiou, who is just a victim of circumstances.

So what would you think about the CDH trade without the Chychrun trade? It certainly helps with our left side until Edler is back and from his advanced stats he seems like a Martinez-lite

I just wouldn't go for a guy that isn't really an upgrade on Anderson or Bjornfot. He's better than Maatta, sure, but you're still spending assets on someone you don't expect to be a piece of the team moving forward. Sure, Tkachev and Grundstrom aren't huge pieces. But I just think it's currently unnecessary, when even Maatta has been performing well enough to keep us in the playoff race.

In the end, if it's not a player at the Chychrun level, then it's just using assets for the sake of making a move. Which I'm generally just not a fan of.
