Description
First year of a three-year plan.

Year Two - https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2751724
Year Three - https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2752352

- Trade Eichel to Vegas, getting good assets back for the long-haul. Tuch goes on long-term IR with surgery while Krebs can be thrown in the lineup now or go to the minors for a bit. Hague can goes on the roster for now but can be flipped as the Sabres are deep at LD.
- Buffalo acquires Quick to give cap relief to LA while getting a better draft pick and gives the team a goalie that isn't 40 (Anderson) for a few year to play with UPL.
- Buffalo takes on Subban's contract for a year, but can deal him at the deadline and retain half the salary. Helps on the RD for a year.
- Henrique is acquired to again, to give cap relief to the Ducks. Henrique can be the veteran insulator for Cozens and Mittelstadt and eventually move down the lines as the younger centers get better. In this scenario he waives his M-NMC.
- Buffalo goes to Minnesota to acquire Zuccarello to help with their upcoming awful cap situation. The Sabres send back a low-priced winger in Thompson but it costs the Wild a first. The team can also eat his cap hit for the next several years. *I saw he has a NMC once on the Sabres but when I traded for him he did not so I'm moving forward as if he doesn't have one*

Jonathan Quick is not a cap dump. Kings intend to keep him as a backup until his contract ends.

Devils aren't paying to move Subban, likely gonna retain him 50% at TDL for a playoff team if Devils are out of the playoff picture. Should easily net NJD a 2nd or a B level prospect if Subban plays like he did last year.

Neither SoCal team is paying to move those players; neither SoCal team has any incentive to move those players unless a very good offer presents itself. The Kings in particular aren't paying to give you a goalie who had a better year last season than either Craig Anderson or Aaron Dell in their last full seasons.

Minnesota says no. Like easily. Why would wild get rid of a better player in Zuccarello and 1st round pick for a essentially 4th liner? You are right, one can dream
