The CBA does not allow for conditions based on whether a player re-signs with a team.

Correct in that Detroit wants Salary... BUT WITH ASSETS. A competing team might make this trade for JVR. Detroit is not giving up assets for a 32 year old with 2 years left at $7M. Does Detroit absolutely NO GOOD. Detroit wont be competing for a cup for a few years in this rebuild, JVR will be gone by then. He provides 0 to Detroit.

So if you want to send JVR or any other contract to Detroit, it has to be with assets. Send a prospect, or picks, but dont ask Detroit for 2 picks and only provide them with JVR. Its a NO.

Also your Seattle plan is garb... they would keep salary on Tarasenko AND take Voraceks contract? Francis must have found the good stuff to smoke up in Seattle... You have him taking $11M in contracts for a 3rd round pick and Hagg? Yea not one team in the league is doing that. They could get Voracek for free right now.. so your paying a 3rd and Hagg for Tarasenko and they keep $3M? Laughable.

Sorry, Wings using cap to help team, not take on 14 million dollar cap dumps. Leddy was a position of need as we had no LHD after Staal contract was up. Leddy is a good 30 year old offensive defensman who is on a 1 year deal. JVR has two years at 7 million and is not producing like a players with that kind of contract.

Again Yzerman likes flexibility and this eats into that flexibility and blocks team from seeing younger pl layers.

Why is Seattle doing Philly such a big favor? taking Voraceks contract and retaining Tarasenkos and their big reason is a 3rd round pick ?
