Description
Chris Johnston on SN590 last night:

"I think the Palmieri thing is significant because one, I do believe the Leafs have some interest in him but two, it's a sign that things are starting to move. I mean, last week was very quiet around the league."

"There's been some indication he may not necessarily want to come to Canada, he does have a limited no trade clause. Although now that the quarantine has been reduced to 7 days, you might see an Eric Staal situation."

"He didn't want to quarantine either when it was 14 days but ended up waiving to go to Montreal. So I think that's something to watch. I really do believe (TOR) will have at least one new forward for sure as of Tuesday the 13th, if not two. And then we look for a goaltender."

"It doesn't seem at this point barring some kind of injury or another situation cropping up that they're all that interested in a D. I think they'd like a forward that has a bit of an ability to play playoff hockey. A bit more rugged, maybe, than just a skill player."

"I think Palmieri fits the bill. I think Nick Foligno fits the bill if Columbus decides to move him. If it isn't one of those two guys, they're going to have to maybe recalibrate their expectations."

Leafs want playoff hockey forward - CJ. Don't know why you think this years version of Palmieri fits the bills or his past playoff history makes him a desirable addition.

We're aiming for a somewhat higher return than that if we move Foligno. Like, a late 1st rather than a late 2nd.

He's a rental for 10 games and the playoffs. He will be back in Columbus next season

Both true (or very probably true) and yet neither actually affect my earlier statement in any substantive way.
