Three things.

1. Gus is not staying on the team past the deadline if we decide to sell
2. Florida says no, and even if they were interested we would not get assets back for it.
3. My guess is that one other RFA (Perlini, Caggiula, etc) gets traded at the deadline for a pick.

Gustafsson was the best d-man we had last season, despite what he lacks in defensive style of play. The only reason Chicago should even think about trading him at the deadline is if he doesn't even break 25 points at the deadline. The Florida trade I figured was going to get some backlash.

Gus is a UFA and the hawks are unlikely to pay him. There really is no reason to not trade him at this deadline.
