Lundell is the Best Defensive Player of the Draft - Prove Me Wrong
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SlickWilly</b></div><div>He already does have a pretty strong shot that is called "elite" by some, and he's described by some scouting reports as a powerful skater as well. I wouldn't take him in the top 5, but after that I think he's fair game</div></div>
After multiple viewings of Lundell I don't think he is a powerful skater. His top speed is fine but his stride is so inefficient, takes him a while to get to top speed and his edges are very poor. With some work he could be better but right now I have his skating at average or even below average. His shot is good, somewhat underrated IMO but not elite. The hockey sense is the selling point for Lundell (its incredible in his own zone) but outside of that and his shot I think he's a very average prospect.. I wouldn't be surprised to see him taken in the top 10 but personally I wouldn't. Just my opinion on him

In for my daily 2020 mock draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>math731</b></div><div>For MTL it wouldnt make sense to move down from one considering the number of assets they already have as well as the fact that Laf is already a native hero. BUT for a team like Detroit who lack great prospects and picks (in comparisons to other rebuilding teams such ad OTT and LA), moving down and still getting the german wonder or the Malkin prototype plus some assets would be great. Theres no way any teams give the price above and any decent person knows it. Laf isnt McDavid and Byfield still have a potential sililar to Laf (especially when you consider the age factor). Seriously, Suzuki is a futur 70pts + C and Gallagher is an elite W, no way MTL is giving this simply for the sake of drafting a native player (even though the fit would be great for the city and the player)</div></div>
If you want an elite winger you gotta pay up. Laf could be a Kane level player, and thats going to cost you. No team wants to move down, even detroit, so you would have to make it something you wont like giving up.

If Gaudreau is available
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CatmanV</b></div><div>Not at all, debrusk and Meier are equal. But Urho is a FARRRRR better prospect than Ferraro. <strong>So please look into it before commenting</strong>. Also Marchy is much more valuable than Johnny hockey so yeah not even close</div></div>
Kind of a dick thing to say no? For someone that doesn't like people being mean to others, you don't seem to practice what you preach.
Now lets talk DeBrusk/Meier. Last 3 years, 5v5 at a per 60 looks because its probably the most accurate way to measure players
<strong>Goals/60</strong>
TM: 1.06
JD: 1.01
<strong>Assist/60</strong>
TM: 1.12
JD: 0.94
<strong>iSCF/60</strong>
TM: 12.01
JD: 8.13
<strong>iHDCF/60</strong>
TM: 5.59
JD: 3.67
<strong>Rebounds Created/60</strong>
TM: 1.33
JD: 0.85
<strong>Takeaway/60</strong>
TM:2.24
JD: 2.12
<strong>Hit/60</strong>
TM: 6.59
JD: 3.32
<strong>Shot Block/60</strong>
TM: 2.15
JD: 1.46
Meier per 60 is the better goals scorer, setup man, generates more scoring chances and high danger scoring chances. He also generates more rebounds while having slightly better takeaway numbers, but doubling Jake in the Hit/60 department and shot blocking department. They are not equal, Meier (while not elite) is better than DeBrusk.

lol they r even offensively at best, then take in the fact Barkov is a top defensive CENTERS (which are worth far more than wingers to begin with) on one of the best contracts in the league, and the added assets don't make it worth moving a franchise center, which are far harder to get than top wingers- you'd know that as well as anyone being a fan of a team that hasn't had a true #1 center in years

Means defence is not on the radar at pick 3</div></div>
What I gather from it is that if they have Drysdale as BPA at their pick, they would pick him. He might not take different positions, but it would all depend on their internal rankings which might differ from our rankings. Thanks for the source!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jassan28</b></div><div>Absolutely amazing roster but Gallagher and Danault are taking discounts. RNH can sign at 7 mill or 7.1, but Gally will take 6.25+. Do Yamamoto on a 5mil*6 years deal. Since the cap be around 83-84 million i see this working if Kenny Holland really goes UFA hunting</div></div>
I don't think Danault is worth more than this, nor Gallagher really. He scores well but is far from a complete player (his career high is just 23 assists) and he'll be past his prime (29) when his current contract expires.
In any case, as <a href="/users/hockeyconnor97" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@hockeyconnor97</a> mentioned on the 1st page, Danault is surplus anyhow. If Holland signs a guy like Soderberg or Haula this summer to a 2-year deal, that will cover 3C for much less than $5.5M and Danault won't be necessary.

Jones and Bear both turn 25 in June that year.
I don't think that's too young and inexperienced on the back end, especially since most of them may get to taste playoff hockey this summer as well as next spring.

What a Franchise GM does on a successful draft day
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claesson4Norris</b></div><div>They have two very good RD prospects in Thomson and JBD. JBD in particular I think has top pair upside, he's such a smart player with no real flaws in his game.
I think there are several RHD available that have legitimate top 4 upside in the 2nd and late 1st. Obviously Drysdale is the premier D prospect, but I don't see him as a great fit for what Ottawa needs. He's a 2/3D who can run a power play. Ottawa doesn't need a guy to run the power play. What they need is more elite front line forwards.
They have Tkachuk, and Batherson who has an elite upside, then Norris who is probably more of a David Krejci type. Then it's mostly 2nd and 3rd line guys. Even if they get Byfield, I'd still think they'd need another elite forward to eventually put them over the edge into Boston/Toronto/Tampa tier of forward cores.
Then you add can swing like crazy and pick up a bunch of really good RHD prospects who can fill out the top six.</div></div>
Ya I see your point. The thing I like about RHD is that they they are in very high demand and are very easy to trade.
The mistake Toronto made was too many guys up front and not enough good defensemen. St. Louis doesn't have amazing forwards but their D line is stacked.
Either way though Ottawa can't really go wrong.
