Please win a round
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Byrr</b></div><div>'You can be sure the Leafs will want to protect their first round pick at all costs. A second rounder seems like a reasonable place to start. The Leafs don’t have one again until 2024 at the moment. They could couple that pick with a B-level prospect like Nick Abruzzese. Maybe they even add a roster player like Justin Holl to the deal. That would create even more cap space. Chicago could spin Holl off for another asset at next year’s trade deadline. In that scenario, perhaps the Blackhawks send back a cheap, useful young-ish player in the deal. If not, a second and a prospect feels like the right price to pay. Anything more and the Leafs might be better off looking elsewhere, or simply buying out Mrazek’s contract.'
I'm not sure you actually read this article but there's the relevant part quoted.</div></div>
Mrazek, Holl and a 3rd gets it done.

You are really misrepresenting what was said in that article. No where do they say, or even imply, that this gets it done.</div></div>
No I'm not. It is suggested that Mrazek and a B level prospect and/or Holl plus a pick could get it done. I'd go as high as a 3rd round pick and that should get it done.

Cup Champs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Erkadurk347</b></div><div>Leafs fan’s, please listen. If a team offered you mrazek and holl with their current contracts, you wouldn’t pay any picks for them. Nor would you take them on for as little as a third. Way too many of these ridiculous offers. Stop wasting people’s time. If you trade them, the least y’all are giving up is a second rounder for both of them together. Mrazek’s contract alone requires y’all to dump a second. Add holl in a trade and ya dump a third. Nobody will just take them for free</div></div>
It's already been reported by Elliote Friedman on the 32 thoughts podcast and by Chris Johnston of TSN that there is a market for Mrazek, He could be easily dumped for a 6/7 in return if a GM thinks they can get him back to his 2018-2020 form for a decent AAV. If the Leafs can fetch a 3rd for Travis Dermott who's worse than Holl (Holl only makes 500k more than Dermott) than they could most certainly fetch a 4-6 round pick for Holl who isn't as bad as Leafs fan make him out to be.

There has been multiple reports from Sportsnet, TSN, and ESPN that there is a market for Mrazek. This is being generous.

Canucks get hometown guy, serviceable RD, prospect and picks. Sens get a veteran presence on their D-line for peanuts and Muzzin gets to stay close to home (Could be mulling retirement if he sustains one more head injury) while the Leafs much needed cap space.

Built for playoff hockey 2
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Oh, no the old "grit" excuse for dismantling the team and trading away futures. Thornton, Foligno, Bogosian and their grit didn't help in last years playoff, nor Clifford the year before.</div></div>
Those trade are apples and oranges compared to the one I am offering. First, Bogosian was an excellent 6th D and didn't resign because of Ontario's covid mandates. The Thornton signing was bad IMO and I hated the Foligno trade. Clifford is irrevelant at this point in his career and at the time he was traded for. You get Konecy on term for the next 4 years at a good number and he brings actual offensive upside compared to the fading Foligno (see his stats this year). Domi can be resigned for $3.5-$4 mil as he hasn't exactly been impressive over the last 2 years, but there is still upside. Crouse is a pure fourth line mauler who's young and isn't an old veteran past his prime looking for one last chance at a cup.
