Best of luck with those cap issues. Oh, and also with this case of Pacioretty you so kindly offer

What's so funny? VGK need to free some space so helping out on that side. SJS have like half of their payroll spent on D and need some money for additional signings up front. Geez dude, instead of always crapping over what others put forward for fun, make an effort and bring something to the table...

7 years x 7 M at 32, dude that is one heavy contract + Sharks need to fill some gaps up front. This trade gives you cap space for a quality F or two, or to re-sign 2 old farts.

Montreal do you accept
Nice try, but we have no room nor need for yet another 4th liner. Take away the pick, add Alzner+Peca vs Eriksson and we may have something here...

Trade with EDM
Philly gets a replacement for Simmonds in Lucic, can play with/protect Nolan Patrick. They also get a decent 3rd pairing D and a skilled 3rd line F, one that I'm sure the new coaching staff likes.
What's not to like?

Gents,
Some may believe that ROR alone will get you: a 1st rounder + a bluechip prospect and an established young forward (perhaps even more). Equally delusional.
ROR realistic worth: 2nd rounder + Good prospect + established top 6-9 forward OR 2nd rounder ( or bluechip prospect) + top 6 forward

MINN and another
View it this way:
Pominville vs Ennis = advantage Buffalo, 1M saved
McCabe +4th rd 2019 vs Alzner at 3.5M + 2nd rd 56th overall 2018
O'Reilly vs De La Rose + Parisi + 2nd round 2019 = Buffalo saves 5.5M an can perhaps sign a Stastny, JVR or Bozak at that price.
Those that think O'Reilly will fetch you the moon (ie 1st rounder (top 10) + established 2nd liner + bluechip prospect) are dreamers

(MTL / ARI) - Domi for Galchenyuk
Man, anything Bergevin's does is automatically considered as a bad move.
Who remember him moving Plekanec before the playoffs... Or even trading Morrow for a 4th and getting Reilly (improvement) for a 5th...

(MTL / ARI) - Domi for Galchenyuk
My homer side agrees with you; I also thought Galchenyuk could have provided us something like a decent D or even a 2nd line center with some size. Considering the guy's got issues, he did need a chance of scenery.
Domi is a character player with a great all around game; some sort of a blend between Gallagher and Drouin. He surely is to me a good 2nd liner for years to come and yes should be expected to receive a 3.5 - 4 M for some 4 years.
Fair trade I think, see how it plays out in 2-3 years. Galchenyuk may very well not resign in Arizona by then...

Close enough for me. I like the deal. Take Jordie Benn with that and I'm almost ready to sign...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sabres89</b></div><div>No from buffalo. Rather have scandella than alzners contract, one year of pacioretty doesnt get you 5 years of ror, and galchenyuk for reinhart is probably close but id rather keep reinhart. So that leaves baptiste and a 6th for a 2nd, which favors buffalo, but not nearly enough to offset the other stuff.</div></div>
You get the NHL's 10th best sniper in the past 5 seasons for 1 year at a more than decent salary, one that will score you piles of goals playing with Eichel. Plus you get to sign him to a better deal than ROR the following season. Plus a 2nd rounder.
BTW, I hope you do take into account ROR is at best a 2nd line center in 2/3 of the NHL teams and is a little overpaid, right?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wojme</b></div><div>What is in that for the sabres? Nothing.</div></div>
Sabres get a shitload of cap space to sign a top UFA, plus that 2nd rounder is bond to be a good prospect in this year's draft.
