DRAFT IGINLA PLUS TRADE UP FOR DICKINSON
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>nilees24</b></div><div>Well how about we trade Barron and move Reinbacher on the 2nd pairing and put Dickinson as the 7th Dman
Hutson - Guhle
Struble - Reinbacher
Xhekaj - Mailloux

It's not perfect, but I like that better

DRAFT IGINLA PLUS TRADE UP FOR DICKINSON

D-Pairings at start of 2026-27 Season (with Savard, Matheson, Kovacevic departures):
Hutson - Guhle
Struble - Mailloux
Xhekaj - Barron

Why is Reinbacher our 7th defenseman in October 2026?

Solid list, what would you want from the Habs to trade back to 24/25?

No disrespect to Jake Sanderson, but Noah Dobson is not signing for less than him - and will likely get significantly more

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Matt1567</b></div><div>would that not cancel it out when he re-joins the team?</div></div>
No, retention remains even if a player rejoins the retaining team, so we would have both Petry and the Petry retention as separate entities at that point.

Buying out Petry would not open up a retention slot, it would extend the retention through 2025-26

2024 Tiers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Z0ra</b></div><div>Solid list the two prospects the one prospect that you missed out on was Teddy Stiga. He's near the top 10 in my eyes, second best skater in the draft and elite defensively.</div></div>
Thanks!
And thanks for the tip. I do like Stiga, though anywhere in the top 16 would be a big risk in my eyes. I think he could be in the mold of a Yanni Gourde if he develops properly, but that's a long development path with lots of room to go sideways.

2024 First Round Mock
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kyle_Okposo_Lover</b></div><div>To me, watching Romani he plays like he was a first rounder last season. If he doesn't go top 32 id be shocked. Becher is more of a reach for sure but we always see that in the late first. Not necessarily DY+2s but reaches, so I wanted to be bold. I also got Nabokov as my #1 goalie and going in the 50s lol.</div></div>
Makes sense; it's a great year for over-agers, so it'll be interesting to see where they all end up! I like Pulkkinen and Vuollet as well, though Vuollet is more of a late 2nd to 3rd guy imo.

This would be quite a shocking result. A 20-year-old drafted in the 1st round and an over-ager drafted in the top 20 would be neat.

He'll go back into the draft, so anyone could take him. How many top end talents do you think we're going to find in the middle of the 7th round?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AStovetop</b></div><div>Yeah that's fair, pretty impossible to account for potential trades.
But I think Mukhamadullin has a similar ceiling to Buium and is essentially NHL ready, then they have Thrun who's shown to be a really solid 2nd pairing guy already in the NHL, then obviously Ferraro who's only 25 and a really great 1st pairing d-man when paired with a puckmoving RHD, and Cagnoni who is more and more impressive every week and could be a really special player. I feel all would be hard done by to be on the 3rd Pairing in the future.
Yeah I could really see Lindstrom go anywhere between 3-12</div></div>
Good to know; I'll try a different option for the Sharks the next time I make one of these. Catton and Celebrini would be an incredible haul.
Lindstrom at 12 would be genuinely shocking to me
