Fluery Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>VanillaIce</b></div><div><i>We'll see how it pans out, but Fleury is by far the best goalie available (and is only available at all because Murray is so good) and there will be some competition (Cgy, Tor, Dal, Edm, Arz, Buf, Ott ... maybe some surprise teams like Fla or Det too) - so I think the Pens can be very picky. I predict the Flames would have to give up a couple of good young prospects. Eg. Shinkaruk+Jokipakka, something like that.</i></div></div>
I agree with my friend VanillaIce,
Fleury is by far the best goalie available and EDM and CGY are in a need to make the playoffs now mode so they will be willing to pay.
The one who doesn't get Fleury will not make the playoffs and these are competing markets...

Agreeing with MarcBergyCH:
Too much at the advantage of CGY.
Need to give more, either 1st pick or better prospects.
But goos understanding of what these teams want and need.

Flower flames +others and cap space
I would really like to see it happen Bro.
But, although, MAF is worth a lot, probably anyone on CGY's side excluding Gaudreau and Bennet.
Giordano and Hamilton can't be touched because they would create a hole that can't be filled.
Maybe god prospect and 1st pick, but no Bennet for sure!

Habs 16-17
This is probably a joke:
Overpaying for Brouwer and getting Tampa's best propescts for peanuts.
You do understand well the needs of Montreal, but the value is off.
Makes no sense whatsoever.
I live in Montreal but never liked the Habs.
It is the problem in this city.
Everyone Highly over-estimates the value of this crap team since at least 25 years.

Pens 2017
Hi Paul,
I wouldn't personally really want Yakupov on my team, but I think all your trade are Fair value and address the needs for all these teams.
Good job Sir!

Pens Envy
Hi!
I think you get the needs of the involved teams well.
I think Fleury is worth a little more then what CGY offers but you are in the right ball park.
The trade with Anaheim makes a lot of sense but I don't think Pitt is willing to give Pouliot, the only potential top 4 D they have in the minors.
All in all, good job!

Pens
Hi,
First of all, good job on a depth analysis.
I think you understand the needs for all the teams well.
Fleury is worth more then a second pick and the 4th d-man of a non playoff making team, but in the essence, a high pick and a good d-man for Flower makes sense.
I think if you put in the 1st pick of CGY, either this year or next, this all works.
Good job sir!

5AF - 16-17 Penguins
Good analysis of the needs on both ends.
I don't think Fleury will go for a #4-5 defensemen and a 2nd pick (maybe throw a 1st pick in there).
But overall good job.
And I like Kunitz for Thompson!

2016-17
HI!,
I think you understand the Habs need very well!
But the salary you put for Yandle and Ladd are too low, they will both sign for 5.5 to 6.5 millions.
Remember the habs always pay 1 million too much and one season too many...
Plus, although it is realistic, it doesn't really address the real problem in MTL (no #1 center and no #1 RW).
With that said, we know Bergevin won't address them either because he doesn't have the ressources nor the guts...
But well thought overall!

Most Likely Scenario
You are clearly a Flames fans that lives in La la land to suggest you can receive a top 10 - top 15 goalie that is just 30 and that earns an affordable 5 millions in exchange for a 2nd pick.
There is no point for Pitt to make this trade. I think they would rather losse Fleury at the expension then get nothing like that.

Pens Run 2
Hi,
I like the depth of thinking you have put in your trade.
I am not sure that the pens want Wideman (high Salary, a bit-low performances) or that the flames really want Kunitz (age).
But Fleury for Kylington and a pick makes sense (maybe a 1st round pick).
Silfverberg would be a nice addition but he plays RW and the pens have already Kessel and Hornqvist in this position which would put him on the 3rd line...
But the pens need a top 4 d-men now and a future high prospect demand and they need betterm younger affordable 2-way offensive guy and you suggest all of these, so overall, good job sir!

Pittsburgh Penguins Custom Roster
Fleury for Frolik?
I guess you made a mistake or a typo?
A #1 goalie for an overpaid 2nd-3rd line forward?
Maybe you wanted to add a 2016 1st pick and forgot?
I don't see any reason for the Pens to do this...

PIT 2016-2017 goalie give away
Thanks Sqm918!
I think you are right, I am giving up way too much for Chabot.
On the other hand, I really don't think Bonino will stay in Pittsburgh.
Although he might not be traded to CGY like in my scenario, if we give him 4 millions and protect him as you suggest:
Crosby+ Malkin+ Horny+ Hagelin+ Bonino+ Kessel = 37.25 millions on these 6 forwards which leaves very few to re-sign RFA like Rust, Sheary and to add any type of D-men to our flawed yet beloved defense.
Also, keep in mind that Matt Murray is RFA at the end of next season, we will need space for him as well....

Thread:
fluery trade for #6
I think the essence of the trade is good, but CGY needs to win now and Pouliot and Sprong are not gonna help them with that.
Also, I doubt the Pens will trade the only actual propect they have both in attack and defense.
@Peterman;
I'm sorry to ask, but who are these many goalies available?
To my understanding, only Tampa and Pittsburgh can actually boast they have #1 goalie caliber available to trade (fleury/murray and Bishop (NMC)/Vasilevsky).
Also, CGY and EDM are competing this season to make the playoffs and they both really, really need a #1 goalie.
Fleury being by far the most consistent and reliable and with 20 shutouts in his last 3 seasons he leads the league...
I think is value is far superior to what you suggest.
With all due respect...

Don't Want It To Happen
Don't worry Bro,
Pittsburgh won't trade Malkin, particularly not for Subban who has a poor reputation and an overwhelming salary.
Fleury to Calgary makes sense but Calgary needs to give more for a #1 goalie and a future top 4 d-man.

Fleury Trade??- Read Description
I like your trade, it seems fair.
But I think Pittsburgh will be looking to add youth to the roster.
I just suggested a trade that involves Fleury, Bonino and a round 2 pick vs Shinkaruk and the 2017 1st pick.
look it up
thanks
