that is a little unnecessary of a comment and yall were the ones who drafted him so you can keep him but its not like he is ever going to play in the NHL ever again

Buying out Nurse is a real bad idea, he's our 2nd/3rd best d-man and a huge part of our top 4. His buyout is also terrible costing us $9.5 million dollars on the cap for 3 years straight. We just have to dump Campbell's deal next year and hope Holloway and Broberg step up big time since we are stuck with Browns 3.25 million dollar bonus eating up our cap (Thanks to our super smart GM!)

Realistic Rebuild 21
Just so you know the cap is going up to 87.7M so you its not as realistic as it could be but you made a good crack at it with the Oilers just didn't really fill any holes and needs we had
Where's Broberg??? not even given a contract???
Bourgault won't make the team and probably has a 5-10% chance of making the team he just has so much to continue to work on
Pickard will deservedly want more around the dollar of 900k-950k which is fine
pass on Tyler Johnson we can get better players in FA for more money

marner obviously
Oh no. More "veteran leadership" nonsense trying to make a trade. Tavares doesn't waive anyway.
Leafs and no NHL team has any interest in PLD even at 6.5m, never mind giving up two good pieces.
I doubt Marner would waive to Nashville, because they don't have a premier centre to help his numbers in contract year. But the trade itself is pretty reasonable.

Mitch Marner is worth more than you think
It isn’t a matter of being a Leaf hater or apologist. NMC is the reason Taylor Hall was traded to Boston for a 2nd round pick and Vladimir Tarasenko was traded for a 3rd/4th despite their value being much higher. A full NMC depresses value.
Toronto’s only lever point is the 8th year on Marner. He can literally sit for one year and sign wherever he wants / force the move of his family only once.
I wouldn’t be shocked to see a Marner for Saros deal straight up. Nashville is a positive tax city and a competitive team

He's really not. Lackluster playoffs, a very non-physical style of hockey, and his astronomical cap hit make his value much lower than you think. No one is denying he's a good player. But the biggest knock on his value is he's not a playoff performer, which until he proves otherwise will reduce how much he's worth in a trade.
As a side note, Nashville wouldn't trade Askarov for that pick unless it was number 1. The consensus seems to be Askarov is about to make the leap to the NHL and Saros will be the odd man out and may be traded at the draft

marner is worth a lot I agree but not a projected superstar and 2 likely to be top 10 picks

I FIXED TORONTO FOR YOU READ DESCRIPTION
Why would we want to take $11 million off your hands when we have Carlsson, McTavish, Zegras and Gauthier all to play center?
One season of the three-and-a-half-year-younger 60-point Vatrano is a lot cheaper than one season of 65-point Tavares and we have the option of re-signing Frankie, which we will be both more likely and more able to do than re-sign Tavares.
Gudas declined to play in Toronto when he had the chance, and I'll bet that his feelings haven't changed. Trading him isn't in Anaheim's best interests at all because he's one of only two NHL-qualified RDs we have under contract for next season.

Broberg will replace Kulak in the off season, Broberg just had one of the best seasons in the AHL as far as defensemen go.
Holloway is a keeper, a sub 1M player that looks to be ramping up his game.

Reclamation Types
Holloway has dealt with a ton of unlucky injuries and has been so great for us in the playoffs so far, Broberg also has been doing great in the AHL. As stated by @Bluetomorrow83 we are up against the cap pretty hard next year meaning we are going to be relying on Broberg and Holloway to fill key depth (or for Holloway potentially top 6 if he keeps this up) spots for cheap.
Only way I can see either being moved is in a larger package for TK or Sanheim which Philly won't want to do

Unlikely Oilers move either prospect they need sub 1M roster players next year with the 3.5M in bonus carryover. Holloway has also been quite good since his recall and Broberg was good in the AHL just had Ekholm, Nurse and Kulak as LD in front of him.
