<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Who_is_Jimmy_Stu</b></div><div>I'm confused. Would you do Siegs + a 2nd?</div></div>
Probably not. NJD needs more defensively minded D, not less.
I don't see Chychrun as a fit in NJD.
Any asset I would pay for Chychrun as a rental I'd rather pay for Marcus Pettersson for example

Because if you're offering 2nd+Siegs+Casey for 1 year of Chychrun that would be a fireable offense</div></div>
With an extension of course. Probably downgrade the pick too.

Take Siegenthaler instead of trading for Kulak and you have a deal with NJ
Casey probably not NHL ready

Chabot value is low right now. Tanev comes off the books next year and Oleksiak the year after so we free up 8M$ two years early. Plus getting Brandon it could lure his brother.
Edit: Oleksiak also PKs well, blocks shots, and very physical. Literally 3 things we need. Tanev is not offensive at all but he brings everything else we need.

Brady Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy316</b></div><div>I want Holtz
A 1 dimensional goal scorer is still a goal scorer.
16 of them his first full season doesnt seem like much but he did it without taking penalties or being a turnover machine.
He just chipped in goals from 3rd line while trying to grow his game but stumbled pretty hard there defensively.
Value is for sure going down but its not gone
MTL would give you Kapanen or Beck with COL 2nd right now for Holtz
It'd give 2 options in bottom 6 best Faceoff Center or Middle 6 Checking Forward Faceoff Center
Both Overchieved but Kapanen did it against men at multiple levels including against future HOFer's in the World Championship
Finished tied 4th in Goal Scoring and 18th in Faceoffs takes , 20th in Faceoff % with a 53.54% win rate if memory serves.
His current Contract has him in Liiga but his Coach says he expects him to start in the NHL this season and stay there.
Kapanen's Gamble?
while 2024 is his year as a Goal Scorer for sure
He's played for team Finland at every level based on his Defense and Faceoff ability.
It wasnt until 2024 he came out as a Goal Scorer after a few years adjusting to playing vs men.
I think he's 21 now? he's gonna make the jump to the NHL and unlike most who struggle in faceoffs
I dont see Kapanen doing that as he faced off against top quality centers like Tavares , Hischier,Tkachuk , Cozens and many others who were not taken 1st for 4th OA in their NHL drafts.
While i'd still rather see him tear it up in MTL filling a void we need with a strong Danault or Plekky like Presence who can score goals a little easier.
If it meant getting Holtz even though he wasnt selected in camp by Sweden to reamin on to be in the tournament Kapanen wasl eading to Break out on the big stage ,id make the trade.
Kapanen is younger and in a better position to make an impact but Holtz has laid the ground work and poised to break out under the right situation</div></div>
You can have him in Montreal then lol. He isn't good enough to be the best piece coming to Ottawa in a Brady deal.

Were talking about a guy whos rumoured to be attached <strong>with</strong> a first round pick for Ullmark. Its a lose-lose scenario for the sens that someone else is going to capitalize on</div></div>
non credible rumours... chych is a top 4dman in nhis prime OTT should get a good return, depends on staois dealing ability

OTT will get a way better return than a 4M 4th liner, a C prospect who has not played a complete season in years and a 3rd

I do see your point and although that would be wicked to have the up and coming talent, I feel the team would need to fill the void with a player or players that can play with our top 6 and not struggle.</div></div>
We will be worse tho. If we want short term fixes , they won’t be better than Brady and even if they are , it’ll be short lived

It would be building around Stutzle, Sanderson, Parekh, Lindstrom, Kent Johnson, Greig , Pinto, Bos 1st and the 2025 1st.
