DTN. Heard that Bowman approached the Rangers, wanting Girardi and Staal. Patrick Kane was offered in return. Rangers turned him down....offered just one of two Ranger Dmen. Deal off. Sorry.

Pens get the better deal if you look at it player for player, but the cap space is the key to this for Chicago. Daley helps offensively, but he didn't fit in like most had hoped and his career possession #'s are horrible for a puck possession team like the Hawks. Scuds is SLOWWWWWWWW, but he'll be asked to play a simple game for 10 minutes a night. Every dollar Bowman can save is crucial at this point. Good deal for both teams.

they both suck but the Hawks have cap space, they will be able to do more with that space at the deadline

Great to see some trades Yes! Happy for everyone involved. Players, teams, fans. Daley didn't fit and needed a change of scenery, Hawks NEED cap space. Even with $1M extra...something can happen. Who knows...maybe Scuds just needs less responsibility. I don't think he'll be mad at 6-8 min a game like Daley was. Hurray for everyone!

Oh forgot the best part...if Scuds doesn't work out...send him down....that's $2M to work with!!!! Swimming in cap space!
