The worst part of this list was looking for an acceptable addition from Vancouver. Pouliot and his 800k becomes the 7th D and represent the Canucks.
Getting a third pair with Vlasic and Hamonic is worth a world cup team. Behind four swedes ofc. It was a toss up between Vatanen and OEL but since I made it under the cap (with almost 90k to spare) I didn't have to go for Vatanen. Even if it means I play two left handed Ds in the first pair.

With the clear exception of McD, it wasn't easy putting together the forward lines. Few players/contracts stick out as "to good to deny" but I feel like I got four decent lines.
Some players are passed on cause of the cap, nothing else. Getzlaf is a lot better then several of these players but it's not easy fitting in 8.25m

Money. Talbot actually was my first choice among the goalies but when I saw Jones had 1m less I took him. I'm thinking three-way battle for the net, no clear first choice here. Although I could just as easily skip Gibson (I have him as third from the get-go) and take the extra money saved from him to replace Jones with Talbot.

But Raanta isn't being moved anyway, he have to much talent and earn to little to be overlooked. A possible starter for 1m.

Not a fan of his, but Matthew Tkachuk at $925K over Pearson would free up some cash. Would you do Bo Horvat / Jeff Carter over Backlund in that case? Is there enough left over to have Talbot over Gibson? If not, I'm sure you could find a better 4C than Karlsson for under $1M.

I did have Tkachuck in the team when I realized there weren't any player from LA in. According to the rules I needed one so considering contract/value I picked Pearson ahead of Carter.
Jagr is here cause he's Jagr.
In hindsight I can edit in Talbot, it was a choice I made based on cash as the first two teams I picked from was Oilers and Sharks.
Horvat won't make the cut in my team, if he still was on ELC he'd get in right away but I don't take him on instead of cheaper players who've proven more.

But I'm going to go in and edit some stuff. I'll write down every change I've made in the comment section.
It should also be said that I'm more informed on the swedish players then others since I'm a Swede myself, that's the main reason why Larsson and Klefbom got in, that and their fantastic contracts.
