Description
- Backes and Stamkos are both in contract years and if both are unlikely to re-sign, this could be a match.
- Berglund is finally gone in a move for cap space

I also considered trading Rattie instead of MPS in the Stamkos trade.

Don't think the Flyers want trade for two upcoming UFAs unless they were displeased with Del Zotto. Your analysis of Berglund seems right on,.....so why would Edmonton want him?

Berglund isn't someone who I see (or hope) is a Blue in the next year or 2. I think he can be a guy who can plug in 3rd line C and give the team a little boost. I think having the star talent around him could help his game. he hasn't been much of an active player, but with some pacey players along side him, he could pick up his game a little.

Ott can be re-signed for cheap, Gunnar is another left-handed shot. I see your point however.
