Initial Creation Date: Oct. 10, 2017

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Montreal lines (when healthy).
In:
- McCarron: Welcome to the team big man. 3 simple jobs for you to stay here. 1.) Hit everything that moves. 2.) Keep the other team honest... don't let then get away with cheap shots we need you to stick up for the smaller skilled guys. 3.) Stand in front of Shae Weber's shot on the 2nd PP unit. You are 6'6" so your face should be safe.
- Jerabek: Welcome to the team skilled russian d man. We need your playmaking ability and left handed shot as an option on the main powerplay with drouin. Weber is a right handed shot and therefore can't use his one timer. Just try not to get scored on you just have to play 3rd pair.
- Schlemko: Need you back from injury already.. Benn is struggling hard.

Out:
- Hemsky: Too lazy and too many penalties.
- Streit: Too old.

Line 1:
Galchenyuk you are in. It is obviously you need to play an east-west type of game so what better player for that style than drouin? Your good buddy gallagher can play the right side to get pucks for you. You guys are gonna be relied upon for offence.

Line 2:
A bunch of two-way guys that can shoot... you are gonna face the other teams top line night in night out and shut them down.

Line 3:
Hudon you are with danault and shaw. They have good chemistry, battle hard, cycle the puck well... but that's it you gotta score the goals.

Line 4:
The specialist extras. Byron you can move up and down the lineup but will be used heavily on PK. De la rose you gotta play with energy every time you get on the ice (won't be often). McCarron you gotta be mean and will get some pp time.

D pairing 1:
Mete keep up the good work you compliment weber nicely.

D paring 2:
Keep up the good work, alzner you are settling in well playing solid D. Petry you gotta feed off of that more and create some offense.

D pairing 3:
Just don't get scored on. Jerabek you are here for powerplay don't get scored on 5 on 5.

Goalie:
Jesus Price.. (need a little more from you)

PP 1:
All about giving drouin as many options from his spot on the half wall. Replacing Weber with Jerabek gives another one timer option and a more mobile supporting playmaker. Put pacioretty in the slot and galchenyuk for the back door one timer... this makes way more sense. Gallagher down low by the net to jam or make quick passes to pacioretty/galchenyuk.

PP 2:
All about using Weber's cannon. Mete is a good playmaker and is very mobile up top, good partner for weber. McCarron needs to screen the goalie. Hard thing to ask but if they can't see it they can't stop it. If he wants to be in the NHL that's what he's gonna have to do. Lehkonen is the perfect guy to clean up the rebounds.. very good in front of the net and he has a good shot. Hudon brings skill needed to make it interesting.

PK:
Forwards are pacioretty plekanec lehkonen danault shaw byron de la rose. Replace mete with schlemko but keep the same D pairings.

This team is out playing the other teams and they have the pices to be successful. Just need to make a few tweaks for everything to come together.

Trade Block:
- Looking for a top 6 Center.
- A top 6 right handed winger to improve the powerplay (hemsky is a bust).
- A left handed offensive defenseman with a better shot than Jerabek.

I like the D lines you put out - except I would make some changes to the forward lines.. Here's what I would do which I think is optimal:
Pacioretty-Drouin-Lehkonen -> sniper, playmaker, puck hound who can keep up with the other two
Hudon-Galchenyuk-Gallagher -> two skilled players who are primarily snipers but can also dish the puck with a puckhound/gritty player like Gallagher to retrieve pucks & create space
Byron-Danault-Shaw -> sniper/speedster, 2-way C, Puckhound -> these guys have played very well in the past together and would absolutely tire out & wear down opposing lines - I would match them up vs the other teams best lines
JDLR-Plekanec-Hemksy -> A defensive forward with size and 2 defensively responsible forwards with a little skill & secondary scoring + Hemsky & Pleks played quite well together at last years World Cup of hockey.

At the deadline - I would aim to acquire one of the vegas top 6 RW's (Neal/Marchessault/Perron) and move every RW listed down a line while taking out JDLR

What has galchenyuk done to prove he deserves 1st line minutes? Hes absolutely terrible as a LW/C he only plays well on the RW

Not sure how you can make that claim.. I don't think hes ever done anything a RW in the minimal games he's played there. When he scored 30 goals he started scoring from left wing and continued that from center.

And it's not what he's done to deserve top line it what the entire team hasn't done. If they can't get their former 30 goal scorer going they will continue to lose games. Lastly they aren't top line minutes.. they are offensive minutes. Pacioretty plekanec lehkonen will likely have to play more tougher minutes against other teams top scoring line.

These are also good lines.. I would like to see galchenyuk tried at C as well but the organization felt the need to specifically say he is a winger and probably won't go against their word because it would make them look bad. It's ridiculous that they even had to say he would be wing... just say they will play him wherever he fits bet for the team or something. I think hudon and galchenyuk would make a good duo.

I actually like your lines better I think.

Just want to point out that Jerebek isn't Russian. Other than that, I agree with pretty much everything.

You're right I knew that got caught up in what I was saying and forgot he just played in the KHL.

When Galchenyuk scored 30 goals mostly all of them were from the right circle.

Yes but he doesn't have to play RW to go there. Has more freedom as a centerman
