How’s this? DAL/PIT/VGK/NYI fans?

Description
Vegas surprisingly doesn’t have any extra 1-3 round picks this year, and in a deep draft, they could use some. Eakin would fit well in New York, being a slightly less physical and more offensive Cizikas. The cap won’t be a problem for NYI because it’s about the same as Cizikas. Vegas takes Kulemin as a one year cap dump.

Pitsburgh is in need of a defensive 3rd line center, and Cizikas fits that roll perfectly. Sure, he’s a bit expensive, but it takes Maatta of the books and clears up a roster spot on the back end since they have 8 defenseman with 1 way contracts. Pittsburgh also gets 2 2nd round picks which they can flip at the trade deadline for something to help their roster. Maybe a rental backup goalie if Niemi doesn’t play well?

Dallas really bolstered their defensive core this offseason, but an extra 6-7 guy in Seidenberg isn’t going to hurt. They are only giving a 4th for him. Maybe a deadline deal?

I think the Pittsburgh deal is pretty fair, not 100% sure Cizikas is a 3rd line center offensively but he may have been dragged down by his line mates.

I'm kind of ambivalent on most of this. The Olli Maatta trade is risky, but I like it. Get Barzal off the wing. This is exactly how we end up ruining our prospects, we force them to learn positions that misuse their skill set.
