i wouldn't trade demers for a 5th rounder let alone JVr ... florida fans may think i undervalue him but he's old and has a anchor of a contract. Not interested.

Lol old? He's 29, decent skater and only has 3 years left at 4.5... Hardly an anchor. The same cap hit as Zaitsev which is mid range top 4 money. 28 points on a bad team that had a lot of in-house distractions and stayed healthy. Your statements make no sense

Yes, JVR is a better player than Demers but ... Florida wants to get rid of his contract (he already nixed a deal to Vancouver) and could use some offense with the loss of Marchessault, the cost of getting rid of his contract is 1 yr of JVR with no guarantee JVR re-signs with them.
