Ouch. Man, cap hell does suck. I don't see many of these going through the way they are. Helm does not help NYR's center situation and that trade would prevent them from resigning their RFA's next season. Carolina probably doesn't want to trade Hanifin. He's a big part of their upcoming, young, strong D-core. Perhaps TVR is a better choice for such a trade, then even out the picks a bit. Not sure if the package for Trouba is really what Winnipeg needs, but I don't know that team too well. Seems light though for a 1D. I can see Green being moved at the deadline. I'm not sure he will command a 1st, but I can see him going to just about any team that could use a rental puck mover.

Overall, I think Nyquist and Green are your best trade tokens simply because their cap situation isn't terrible and they can fill a lot of roles that teams need.

Are those three players really on LTIR or are you just making cap space?

Franzen is for sure, with Kronwall having permanent knee damage he's probably a pretty good candidate for LTIR because Ken Holland likely won't make any moves to shed cap other than playing LTIR shuffle. Ericsson has a constant nagging injury that I can't think of at the moment. He's more of a pipe dream for LTIR but who knows what's in store.

laugh Helm+4th for Holden Holden pretty much has zero value not worth Helm and a 4th round pick, And get real on Haydn Fleury Nyquist+Holden+2019 3rd for Fleury+6th over value Fleury much it would take Fleury+2nd alone just to get Nyquist and we're not moving Mantha to get Trouba if Trouba truly wants to come home he will as a UFA same with Shattenkirk and the Rags.

While i agree that sometime during the season Kronwall will at least some some time on LTIR, I seriously doubt he does at the beginning of the season. Every thing points him being good to go and if Blashill rest him on back to back games he will probably be fine for the season he will have at least 5 months to rest before the season. As far as Ericsson is concerned he has 2 bad hips but it didn't nag him last season he missed 3 games due to back spasms before he missed the rest of the season when he broke his wrist after being boarded by Nicklas Backstrom Ericsson is good to go he wont be on LTIR any time soon.

Isn't it a shame, when the best way some teams to rebuild their roster is hoping some of their veterans are on LTIR.
Larkingisking: Hey you're writing what I have been writing for a year. Trouba is setting himself up to be a UFA in the summer of 2021.
