Opening Night Lineup

Description
Optimism and pessimism are both perfectly acceptable given today but I think the offseason will play out much the same unless something crazy happens: Resign Swayman, let the kids compete for a roster spot. There hasn't really been a true camp competition with a clear spot in the lineup for a few years and I think that competition will be healthy and productive. Prospect rankings will come, but look to Lysell being overtaken by someone else to start the year and he'll get his shot after the first few weeks. I think Jaxon Nelson will get the nod off the back, I think he'll definitely surprise a lot at dev camp and beyond.

I'm really excited to see if they put Poitras with Marchand on the 2nd, and if they add Lysell to play there or maybe Frederic. It would be interesting to see how Brad leads a line of young guys with tons of talent. Hopefully it works out really well

i think beecher is going to take a massive step forward tbh. could see him taking the 2winger with pots/coyle and march. hes got a big body and speed so after a camp + time working on the wing i think he could easily fit in well. fredy coyle and geekie will all have shots to play with pots and march(im guessing the plan is pots as 2c for growth and to play with march to get the vet gain)
i honestly dont see nelson ever getting more then a few NHL games. 5 years of college never really was a heavy stand out last year got 1 point in like 13 AHL games and looked pretty invisible imo for most of them. hopefully im wrong and he shoots up as much as u think but id bet brazeau becoming a 20 goal scorer more then nelson becoming a top 9 player

Beecher doesn’t have the offensive skill set to be a top 6 winger. He won’t ever be one. There is a better chance that Frederic gets a run before him.

Lysell or Merkulov seem like the more likely options barring a trade
