I think the bruins should be in on McGroaty. I doubt they're willing to move Fred tho

Wouldn't be shocked with Sweeney.
If I saw an ACGM that had Korpisalo, Kastelic, and the late first for Ullmark, I would have roasted the op.

Agreed but I wish they would especially if they could make it work with Rutger. Just have no interest in a Freddy extension that probably runs at least $4mil per

They were forced to take 3m in 💩 cap due to no leverage. They are not taking almost 6m in 💩 cap when it is not necessary and they can’t afford to.

They weren't forced. I'd be happier spending $13M on goaltending with Ullmark and Sway than $11M with Sway and Korpisalo

I mean, if he steps up this year, scores 20+, plays some top 6 mins, tops 40+ points, I think he'll be worth $4M/ year.

I think he also needs to maintain a physical snarl to his game that helps give the Bruins their tough- guy identity back.

Yes they were. They did not want him. They could have walked away. Would have been kind of stupid to though. There was not going to be another chance. They wanted him out by July 1st, they wanted a 1st. They had to make a sacrifice to do it with no other options.

Right, but they weren't forced to make a bad trade which is what they made. Ullmark would have happily played his last year here, knowing they wanted to trade him. They wanted him out, they wanted to trade him even for a lesser return.

What they got is fine, other they Korpisalo. That contract will hinder their financial flexibility for four more seasons, opposed to just one.

As I said above, keeping him for another year was not an option. Nor should it have been. They wanted him gone by July 1st.

They were forced to take Korpi to do that and get the 1st that they coveted.

Nobody is happy about it, but it was the right move.

Letting walk for nothing would have been far worse. Which is what happens if he starts the season with them.
