One thing the Leafs offered last season and likely will again is paying Jones his NHL salary whether he is a Leaf or Marlie. So Jones and his family will stay in Toronto regardless; Plus Jones likely wouldn't travel to many Marlies road game. He'll practice with the Leafs and Marlies, and play mostly Marlie home games if demoted.

But I wouldn't worry about the "cap space" in this post. Vegas doesn't do that trade for Marner and NJD don't trade for Kampf.
