We're not trading #2 RhD and team leader Radko Gudas without retention for a redundant #3 LhD and a redundant 4th liner and we're not trading Trevor Zegras for pick #12.

We aren’t trading Zegras for that alone and Gudas is our only RD we currently have signed and we love him plus he doesn’t want to play in Canada

Correct. Even IF Laughton and Joseph is a wash (which I completely disagree with) we aren't moving Bonk and the 12th overall pick for Chabot when we are early in a rebuild.
