If Parekh is still available, I think OTT would take him and reject the trade. If he's gone, I could see OTT accepting and hoping Yakemchuk is still there.

10 and a future 2nd=7th. I don't get how Marino is a fair swap for Joseph one is a top 4 RHD the other is a bottom 6 wing

Probably cause a future 2nd doesnt get you from 10 to 7.

This isn't NHL25.. The cost to pick your guy at the top of the draft is higher then people think, that's why top 10 picks rarely move, and almost never in a trade back situation.

Lol that isn't based off some NHL video game logic every single time teams have moved 2 or 3 spots its usually only cost them a 2nd in the top 10 per historical comparisons

I see why Ott would do this... sort of...

Why does Jersey do this?! Pick 6 is not worth that much more than pick 10 is

I would do this and just take Sennecke, Buium, Dickinson, Parekh etc whoever makes it to 10 lol. NJD shouldn't consider tho.

it costs a 2nd to move from pick like 24 to 21.........that's very different from the cost of moving from pick 10 to pick 7. All indications from just about every insider, analyst and expert is that the cost of moving into the top 8 is very high

and to clarify your original point.....Joseph is a middle six winger, who can easily step into a 2nd line role and contribute. Marino is a 2nd or 3rd pair RD, not a top pair RD on a single team in the NHL. he's certainly an upgrade on Hamonic or JBD in Ottawa, but that means nothing (both those guys are terrible). John Marino was acquired for a 3rd rd pick and an AHL dman......his value is clearly not what you think it is

Go look back at trade ups in the 5-10 range over the last 20 years. Marino is very clearly a top 4 defensemen in the NHL his career average is nearly 21 minutes per game and he was traded for Ty Smith 1 year removed from 7th in Calder voting (ahead of Stutzle) and the all rookie team but continue to just spread misinformation sensarmy_11
