Good value, probably not the type of trade MTL would be looking for in a Xhekaj trade though.

Sharks accept. Not interested in any of our more NHL-ready prospects such as Gushchin instead of the 33rd overall?

That might work for McGroarty. The Jets likely ask for something else for losing the development time.

That's probably fair, but it's basically the Devils selling low on Seigenthaler and Montreal grabbing him in hopes he recoups some value for a mid-season trade.

Not really. You have a good farm, but I think trading for picks (especially when I traded all them later) is easier for armchair GM things like this.

Yeah, it's looking like the Jets want a 1st rounder for him. Other ideas would be a 1-for-1 with Holtz, but I think the Devils under a new HC are going to give Holtz another chance this year to prove his value.

Honestly a fair offer for a guy who wants out

The Jets have 2 years and Chevy is nothing if he isn't patient.

Avs decline. Can't see them trading from a position of need to a position they don't really need.

If he pulls a cutter then his value will continue to go down. Teams want to be able to have the prospect in their system. I think the jets should try to get a vet from trading him. Probably getting a late first for him if it’s a pick

It's hard to say what they Jets would go for. I could see a vet for sure, but I could also see them go for a similarly aged and skilled prospect. I think pick(s) alone might be the last option as the Jets lose that development time.

But the only reason MTL would trade Xhekaj would be because of the LD logjam so bringing another one in exchange simply because he's better but not great doesn't seem to add up.
