LA literally just traded for a starting goalie, why would they want Ullmark?

DeBrusk has next to zero trade value, at most you could get a 3rd round pick for him if he comes with an 8 year extension (plus he's not signing for 4.5M lol)

Swayman, Necas, and Lindholm all easily get more than that

LA and Carolina laugh hysterically before declining.

You know LA just traded for their new goalie, and Ullmark blocked going to LA, and Debrusk is not signing that just to be traded, and If he would Boston would not trade him?

Take out the 1st Boston still does not make that Calgary trade.

Oh, and you are roughly 6m short in total on those contracts.

necas and lindholm will easily get 7.5mish each.
Sway tho i doubt. he will come to the table wanting 8m and will settle somewhere between 7-7.5m only bob, vasy ilya and helle would make more then him (not counting price cuz hes just an LTIR spot) boston players also tend to sign less then everyone thinks time and time again, sway is going to get locked up long term with how ever many years of term he wants, fans love him and everyone in boston looks up to him so doubt he will publicly fight for 8+m when rask is still hated by some (brainless) fans for being to expensive and in there eyes stopping them from winning a cup (dumb yes but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

With the reports of Shesterkin's extension potentially making him the 2nd highest or highest paid goaltender ever I think you are going to have a tough time getting Swayman to sign for less than Sorokin. That whole narrative on Boston players always signing for less changed with McAvoy and once again showed with Pastrnak

McAvoy is a top 5ish D. 9.5 is very reasonable considering he could have easily asked for 10+. Pasta is a top 5-7 player in the NHL and a top 3 goal scorer. former 60 goal scorer with the cap going up. he easily could have asked for McDavid and Mackinnons 12.5m+. they both easily signed at least 1m under what they could have gotten if they held out. not to mention how much teams would throw at 2 players like that if they got to FA. i think the same will happen for sway. if ur expecting 8.5ishm then drop is about 1m and thats what he will most likely sign for. even if its not bergy taking 6m for term when people thought he was going to get 8-9m saving 3+m on 3 of ur best players ends up adding up. 3m is a good 3rd liner or 2 solid depth vets which would make any contender stronger.

Huh? Nobody is arguing they are very good players. My point is neither of them took discounts. I expect Swayman's contract to start with an 8. He will be signing an 8 year deal, by the time he's half way through it the cap will be over 100M. Swayman will get fairly paid, not overpaid, not underpaid

Also there is no world where Pasta deserved MacKinnon or McDavid money. They are the 2 best players in the world and both play center, a vastly more premium position than wing.

pasta is arguable the best goal scorer in the NHL with the cap rising if he went to FA he would have had teams lining up to give him 12-13m easily. Similar to McAvoy teams easily would have started offers with 10+. hes a RD which always ads value and is good enough to be the #1on all but a few teams. not to mention hes a strong 2 way player that realistically should be running the PP1 for boston. while they didnt take massive discounts that saved boston 2m+ each they easily saved boston 2ishm combined. similar i see sway doing the same. takign 7.25ish when most people see him getting 8-8.25

Makar would get offered 15M on the market today but he never hit the market. I really don't get what your argument here is

he signed that deal in 2021 he would have been offered about what he got maybe not even that considering he was a RFA. my point is pasta nd McAvoy took below there market value to extend just like marchand and pasta on his bridge deal to save boston cap. I would expect sway to do that same.
