None taken, but care to elaborate?

In this instance, Columbus reunites Guadreau & Huberdeau and rids themselves of Laine and Severson.
Jiricek finally gets full-time NHL D-man minutes, and Calgary only takes on an additional $4 mil for two seasons before it swings the opposite way for Columbus for the remainder of Damon & Jon's contracts.
Calgary gets a D-man with term and Laine has another chance in a top-flight role.
Where's the issue?

Except when you "rid" yourself of contracts, you dont get 2 first round picks back.. Those players arent worth first round picks, like at all..

Where have Gaudreau and Huberdeau played together? We got Huberdeau to "replace" Gaudreau.

You're right, that part slipped my mind.
But even still, if Calgary doesn't think Huberdeau is worth that current deal, moving him out for a show-me term with Laine and a solid D-Man in Severson isn't that bad.

I can see where my picks were excessive, but if you want to be out from under the Huberdeau contract, what other options do you really have?
