Why does Vegas make that trade.?......They don't. Marner might be leaving in summer of 2025, but until then any team that he might accept a trade him, doesn't have the cap to dismantle their team for him in 24/25.
Vegas keep Theodore, Thompson at 6m and then has 7m to spend on resigning players or a player. Marner cost 11m, and then Vegas would be forced to sign two 1m players.

I think your math is off. Theodore 5.2M Thompson 6M and 7M cap left=18.2M Marner cost almost 11M that leaves 7.2M in cap space left=18.2M

Sorry your math is so far off. Theodore and Thompson make a COMBINED 6m that leaves 7m to sign a UFA total 13m. 11m Marner two 1m players total 13m
