I read a source saying that STL is thinking of extending Buch to 7-8 year deal.

Mercer won't cost $4M on a 3-year deal. So, there are some savings to be found there.

Don't bring back Tierney.

Holtz is going to be on the 3rd line: Palat-Haula-Holtz.

I also don't see the Devils going after a rental with 10OA. (Fitz has said if it gets traded it won't be for a rental.)

Insane yes,

He hasn’t been on the block forever. The ball is pretty much in his court per Armstrong the day after naming Steen GM in waiting.

Apparently they talked to Buchs agent and let him know the teams ideal future for the next two years, and then Steens vision after.

By all accounts the Blues would be happy to extend Buch. But they’re trying to be extremely transparent that they probably won’t be competitive for the next couple years. If he wants to stay regardless they’ll reach an extension as long as it aligns with Steens vision too. If not, they’ll most likely move him.

That’s far from being on the block.

Krug on the other hand has been on the block per se.

Ummm the next second that Buch is on the block in STL will be the first ever second Buch has been on the block in STL. No clue where you got that idea.

Got a link for that? Army said the other day they're in preliminary talks already, have not seen this 7-8 year part.
