Description
Maximize buch trade value: really help Buffalo move closer to their goals and saving them a buyout while giving use an A forward prospect, an A D prospect with #11, a Bish D prospect in Novikov. Plus skinner will put up a lot of goals on Thomas’s wing and his 3 year contract lines up perfectly with our D man contracts. Ride out 3 years of developing the plethora of prospects we’d have and we’d be very competitive again in 3 years time.

Guys in scratches would get some games this year. Guys in IR would probably get some looks next year potentially.

Can’t see skinner waiving for St. Louis. There’s really no way to get him off the team outside of a buyout.

Hayes is paid 3 mil. Probably could retain half for a 2nd. Serviceable 3C. I probably would want a touch more in this deal anyway if we are taking on Skinner

That is one rough ass offer for Buch

If that’s the trade for him then I want army fired immediately and Steen to take over now

A cap dump. (I like skinner but not at 9mil)
A former 6th round pick
The first and Kulich I assume one is payment for skinner and the other for Buch right?

But like the blues need to get at least one more good pick or prospect for Buch. Not just one and a 6th round pick

He was a 6th round pick but he’s looking like a lot more than that. I’d say he’s buffalos best D prospect and would be our second best one. Probable 5/6th D man IMO.

Kulich is a future top 6 forward, and would be our 2nd or 3rd best prospect. Might have him ahead of Dvorsky.

That first would hopefully be a top pair D, but at least a top 4.

We get Hayes off our books and while he’s okay, he’s not what we need.

We add skinner, also not what we need but subtracting Hayes’s contract, it’s like a 6 mil cap hit for 2 and then 9mil for one last year. Where we could potentially retain and flip. Not great but I think getting all 3 of those first things listed out of a buch trade would be unattainable any other way.

The first, novikov(far more value than a 6th rd pick), and 40% Kulich for buch. 60% Kulich for skinners contract.

I personally would love this deal and think it makes sense. Also commits us r a 3 year focus which eases my mind that doug isnt going to make some huge move and sign another old, overpayed FA. Let him do what he’s best at, draft and make trades.
