1. cap
2. I agree though Id think barbs is too good. I also think they'd opt to give hill over Thompson because of cap.

So I'd think Theodore, Hill, and maybe Roy or a 3rd-5th round pick

VGK doesn't operate like that.

VGK gave up Tuch for a cost-controlled for 5 years and cheaper Eichel.
VGK gave up Lindberg for Stone.

Why in the world would they give up more for a more expensive player, with 1 year left on his contract?

Perhaps VGK would do:

Hill + 1st + 2nd + prospect <> Marner

I don't think Marner goes without signing an extension, otherwise I'd tend to agree with you.

Hard to tell. Conventional wisdom says if he has a NMC he chooses where he goes and can sign, but Ferriss is notoriously bad for taking his players to FA

Which makes Marner basically worthless.

1) Marner needs to waive to go somewhere- most likely that means going to a contender
2) A contender is not giving up any valuable roster pieces, because....they are contending

It's Marner for picks, prospects and maybe an overpaid player or 2.

I think that's a logically falacy. If you get Marner you get the best player. You still have a strong ability to trend upwards despite the people being traded

Ultimately we are both speculating and disagree. Respectfully I just think #2 is such a reach and your logic is flawed

What NHL players VGK given up for Stone, Eichel and Hanifin combined?

Tuch
Lindberg
Miromanov (25GP)

It's not a reach at all. It's history.

Good points. I have absolutely no idea how they got hanafin and stone for that though.

2 is no longer a one off, but I think those are anomalies. Absolute highway robbery in both.

Also your point is made already, but Krebs?
