3.6 million x 3 yrs for a 4th line center will more than likely cost the rangers 2 very late first rd picks in order to dump him… if it was like a 15th, 16th overall pick, different story.

first of all, comparable players were usually traded with only 2 2nds or 1 1st
second of all Rangers would much rather just buy him out than do this

I can't really find a reason why Acciari holds positive value, yet Goodrow takes a 1st + to dump. Goodrow just put up .5 ppg in the playoffs.

Neither contract is "ideal" but I think you'd find more GMs that would prefer Goodrow to Acciari even with the contract situations.
