Stanley sucks. He’s not an NHL caliber dman. None of the players involved in that trade are that good but I’d rather have PDG over Stanley

Islanders deal makes no sense for New York:

-Pageau is 31, has 2x$5M left, is still strong on the dot, and put up 11-22-33 last season.
-Mikheyev is 29, has 2x$4.75M left, is generally only useful on the wing, and put up 11-20-31 last season.
-Suter is 28, has 1x$1.6M, is acceptable defensively and put up 14-15-29 this past seasons.

I'd argue that Suter for a 3rd is fair value if you need him; but swapping Pageau for Mikheyev only saves the Isles $250K, doesn't make them much younger, doesn't add any offense, and arguably makes their forward defense worse. If I'm running the Islanders, it's a pass.

Cool. The Jets aren't feeding Stanley for garbage.

Only getting a 2nd and 3rd back for a top pairing RD is a crime.

Roy isn't signing for anywhere near 3.5.
