Liljegren is a cap dump at that price. Gonna take more than a late first to take him and Mikheyev.

Hronek for Liljegren + a 1st is close but not sure the Canucks take it. Suter >>> a cap dump and Dewar. Easy pass on that trade

If I have said once, I have said it 1,000 times…

It takes either a first round pick or 2 x 2nd round picks to move Mikheyev’s contract.

Liljegren is not an absolute must have for Chicago, so at most I could see Chicago giving the Canucks a 3rd round pick for him.

So I counter with:

To Chicago: Mikheyev, Liljegren, 2025 Vancouver 1st round pick.

To Vancouver: Chicago 2025 3rd round pick.

Breaking news: he's an RFA, his cap hit is $0 until you sign him. Cheers!

TOR's 2024 pick is 23rd OA, though. So the jump from 50 to 23 is probably worth more than what you are talking about. Who know where VAN's 2025 1st will be. But, I would, however, prefer to not take Lily as an RFA and either sign him to a contract that makes sense for us or flip him for a pick and let the next team deal with it. Anyway, I get where you're coming from. Interesting ideas all around.

Then a defense starved team like Toronto should just hang on to him if thats the case.

I did that because I couldn't figure out how to trade Liljegren after acquiring him as a rfa. Idk what his next contract will look like nor do I care lol
