I think Tampa would have a tough time declining that.

They could select someone like Helenius/ Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, 2 prospects who could be in their line-up by 25/26.

Or even get Parekh

They gotta move someone before the NTCs kick in.

A sneaky smart move would be sergachev

That leaves them with a pretty old defence and once Hedman and mcdonagh start to really regress idk if you want cernak as your #1 where as serg took over big time from Hedman in 22/23

Actually, I think it'd be pretty easy for them to do so - they're still in win-now mode and dumping one of their younger core players for a prospect and pick sets them back - unless they get a boatload of either that they then turn around in a pre-arranged trade with another team that takes those picks in exchange for an impact roster player at a lower cap hit than Cirelli.

I'd expect Cernak to become expendable first before the Lightning ever entertain dealing Sergachev.

Maybe - but only as currency IMO for a more proven veteran impact player. As talented as either prospect is, they're still 2-3 years away from being possible impact players in NHL and that timeline doesn't fit with the Tampa core's age group of Stamkos (who they'll re-sign), Hedman, Kucherov and Vasilevsky.

From the Sabres' side, I think that Adams would be willing to deal either if it meant he could add a player like Cirelli with cap certainty, in the age group of his core and with a skillset that complements a lot of what the Sabres already have. The problem is on the Tampa side though IMO - as noted, they can't afford to wait on Kulich or Savoie to make the NHL and develop to the level where they'd make impacts like what Cirelli does now.

This is a good haul for TBL.

This is a trade that stings both teams.

For TBL fans...Rosen could be an NHL player next year. I could imagine him sliding into TB's line-up pretty easily. Cirelli scored 11 goals a season ago. Rosen could easily put up 11 goals next year, or you could ease him into the line-up as he is still waivers-exempt. Plus, the cap room that you are creating here is a huge win, plus when's the last time you've had a pick as high as #11.

There may be better offers out there, I doubt it though.

Or you somehow keep Cirelli and Stammer.

Something's got to give though on the TBL roster.

Question is who.
