The Deal That Scares Bs Fans

Created by: Celtics21
Team: 2024-25 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 7, 2024
Published: Jun. 7, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Believe they will just sign Elias Lindholm, but part of me wonders if revisiting PLD is higher on their list of potential center types. Not a fan, but do believe it is something Sweeney would consider if the intelligence says Lindholm is going elsewhere

This is a variation of a deal that I think was mentioned by a Kings fan. I already know a lot of Boston fans will hate it.

Requires Ullmark to be open to waive the NT. for an extension. Geekie is a more appropriate third center

I can see why Boston fans wouldn’t like it. PLD is too risky to trade for with that contract

I agree, but I also know Sweeney has a staff that does a great job of identifying playing fits with the team since Monty took over. I could see him liking PLD last year when he was basically what Marty Necas is in this years cycle.

I'd send myself into the sun if the bruins went out and got PLD. Objectively the deal isn't that bad, PLD just has huge attitude issues which is the culture the Bruins are trying to avoid.

I get the idea that he's 25, could be great in the future, but I'd rather the Kings deal with that risk at 8.5mil for 7 more years than us.

Plus I've never liked his attitude and competition level, I don't think he'd fit in Boston with that attitude right now, but who knows maybe our culture could help him idk

As a Kings fan. Yes. Easily yes, we're accepting this all day.

I’m not saying I like it at all, but I think OldNY brought it up.

From my perspective, PLD reminds me of Kyrie Irving pre Dallas. Lots of negatives with talent.

I hope we sign Lindholm

If the Bruins are taking on the PLD contract and sending Geekie with Ullmark I’m getting next years 1 and 2 instead of the 4 that’s just soo much risk and probably while it won’t happen

My perspective is PLD is likely plan.C, but could be plan B

1. Elias Lindholm
2. Chandler Stephenson
3. Pierre Luc-Dubios

I am a tad concerned that if Sweeney likes him, he might believe he can be integrated into the clubhouse.

Sweeney does know that he’s one big mistake move from being on the outs so yes I agree with FA an option now I don’t think 7 x 8.5 for a guy who can’t stay on a team are his first thoughts unless it’s a crazy good return

He’s probably one of the more secure GM’s in the league. The record of the team as him as GM has been arguably as good as anybody.
