As they should! Garland is a great player who really fits Tocchet's system. But with reports that VAN wants more top-6 help, squeezing out some of the more expensive middle-6 players may be an unfortunate reality. Garland might just get pushed out, and OTTs 2nd would be a decent price for him.

What if OTT threw in Bernard-Docker as well?

I don’t think JBD makes enough of a difference. The value is fair but Garland has more value to the Canucks than he would in a trade. He was one of our best and most consistent forwards all season. Personally I’d pay to move Mikheyev before moving Garland

I think VAN will have to pay to move Mikheyev regardless, tbh. Mik was terrible during the playoffs and just couldn't get anything going despite having some pretty good chances. That's always been his problem, even back in his TOR days.

JBD would be a good add for VAN I think. Pushes Juulsen further down the depth charts, which is only a positive, and gives them some long-term 3D options. But I agree that JBD and a 2nd, while good value for a middle-6 player, just doesn't come close to convincing VAN to move Garland.

I may be the only one that thinks this but I think that both teams say no. Ottawa would be right up against the cap and I think that they need to make a bigger move than a Garland trade to compete (which is what they want). I also think Vancouver would be a little nuts trading away a winger when thats their biggest need, especially with a number of their players likely hitting free agency.
