If NJ Trades Palat and Marino to Focus on Salary planning to trade Dougie next

Created by: RL_Sin
Team: 2024-25 New Jersey Devils
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 2, 2024
Published: Jun. 5, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This roster centers on NJ keeping Alexander Holtz & focusing on the salary cap thinking about the future to become the next NHL Dynasty.

Too many media + fans quickly dismiss Holtz to be traded. Ironically while saying NJ needs a Top 6 scoring wing for Jack & asking who Jack's next scoring Winger should be. A team hits a point where the cap reaches the ceiling, just like NJ is now & if they have a elite right shot wing still with 1 year on his ELC who potted 16 Goals averaging near 8mins. per night, they may have their guy, but at a reasonable price instead of a 9M AAV UFA or in a trade.

▪︎If NJ offs Palat, their only bad contract in a 3-way trade w/SJ who retains 50% of John Marino's Salary as part of the Palat trade Brunette is united w/ John Marino who he got the best season out of only a season ago & Palat at almost ½ the salary on a more style fitting Predators team makes a lot of sense. NJ is able to free salary & upgrade a roster spot all while landing the big fish Juuse Saros for the 10th OA pick as well as John Marino.
-This trade would mean that the NJ Devils are only one Dougie Hamilton trade the following Summer of 2025 when his contract is HIGHLY favorable to trade away for the Devil's to be able to extend ALL their remaining RFA's this summer AND next summer: Mercer, Saros, Luke Hughes, Holtz & Bahl. This includes the UFA Signings of: Dakota Joshua, Adam Henrique, Tyler Myers, Jani Hakanpää, Stefan Noesen!
-Nemec in his 3rd season would help take on Hamilton's role, as Hamilton was likely only 1 season away from exchanging Pairs w/Nemec either way.
-Seamus Casey & Arsgeni Gritsyuk will be on their ELC's.
-A good chance Nolan Foote and/or Chase Stillman are apart of the bottom 6 replacing Lazar & Bastian.

No one would need retention on Marino his contract is a good deal

Devils are in no rush to move Palat…and swapping Marino for Jani Hakanpaa or Tyler Myers would be a serious downgrade at the position that makes little sense.

And why sell off salary…weakening roster….only to add a rental goalie in return?

I get NJ needs a goalie but that trade made the roster worse honestly. You could probably get ullmark for cheaper than that.

You've added so many pieces that NJ doesn't seem to want to give up and that NSH wouldn't have interest in (Palat, Daws, Clarke), that the value isn't there for either team. Marino would be nice, but NSH doesn't really need the retention (especially if they don't have to take on Palat's contract), so SJ doesn't need to be involved either.

Saros Under size and athletic, those 2 may be great but in the end it could be a yikes. Those signinsg and trade are terrible. So the team has inexperience in playoffs by losing Palat, the reason in signing palat was for playoff

I wrote in the description that it's for Palat, since they both have 3 yrs. remaining, but 50% on Marino seemed more justified than 50% off Palat. The only reason I didn't do say 40% off Palat is because Palat will be w/ NSH for those next 3 years period, but if they end up rebuilding & wanted to trade Marino in a year or 2 his contract at 50% off is great (again this is if their rebuilding, so it wouldn't matter if he no longer offsets Palats full price). It was just a little tid bit I threw in to make the negotiation more favorable for NSH w/out hurting NJ.

What are you talking about, in this trade NJ just got rid of Palat's contract! Do you not realize it is a horrible contract?

Yes, then Palat had back to back career wost seasons & was over paid prior to that. I feel like 5 insane people posted on here. I can tell you I write for the NJ Devil's & I am very accurate with contract estimates and advanced statistics & simply forcasting realistic possibilities of the future of the team and the only fact is this trade likely won't happen, BUT for the opposite reason of all you cookookachoo posters, it won't happen becauase NJ would be the most dominate NHL Team if this trade existed.
-Dakota Joshua Top 25 in hits a PowerFwd entering his Prime.
-Stefan Noesen another PwrFwd in his prime, who is cost friendly because he was such an offenively late bloomer, can play on NJ's PP or PK.
-Hakanpää Top 25 in HITS & in Blocked Shots per game.
-John Marino Bottom 25 in Hits & Blocked Shots per Game & also in On-Ice Goal Differential, but Devil fana stuch on an outlier season from a guy on guess what an OUTLIER SEASON from NJ aka they tied their Franchise Best season... Marino is a Defensive Dman, BUT he is NOT a Defensive Dman, hence why he MUST go and it's nearly non-debateable how much better Tyler Myers & Hakanpää would be for NJ.
-Luke needs a TRUE Def. Dman to pair with not a John Marino who is not a Def. DMAN, NOT a Off.Dman, & Not a 2way Dman, he is a bad Def.Dman as he black & white is labeled a DeF.D w/ the most Def.Zone starts.

I honestly don't know what you're talking about. SJ is rebuilding & I wrote NJ trade them G. Clarke & NSH traded them a 2nd for them retaining 50% of Marino's salary because Palat is a trash former shell of himself & NO team would take him & in real life, but Fitz couldn't trade him quick enough if someone would.
