Hawks probably decline. With the retention on Donato, that's almost $11m in cap hit this season and almost $10m next. Garland is a solid player, but a 3rd and a 6th isn't nearly enough.

Maybe if it was Zibanejad instead of Trocheck. NYR can't afford both Zib and Pettersson. Over 20m in cap. Kreider going would make it more likely Zib waives also.

Zib had his worst year in 6 years. Tro had his best in 11 years. Both are likely slight outliers. NYR just can't afford both Petey and Zib.
