not really sure why you would want him.

pesce gets WAY more. like 8 times more in terms of actual dollars of the contract.

If they're moving burns it would be to extend Pesce. And if Pesce was going to sign that, it would have been done forever ago. Try 7x7, since that's what he's looking for

He’s not. Just a few fans on here loudly complaining about him. Maybe they do deal him but that’s not what it seems like FO is interested in doing. They might already lose half their D, they’re not going to willingly lose another piece and make over 2/3 of the back end. And just bc they move him doesn’t mean they all of a sudden increase what they’re willing to pay for any of the UFAs. Lastly, he’s got a heavy NTC so unlikely a match can be found with the 3 teams he’s looking for.

Also that’s atrocious for Pesce.

Fair, didn’t watch a lot of Canes games, but he seemed to have a down year statistically. I just couldn’t see teams throwing out that kind of money for him, instead vying for a 1 year prove it deal.

He's already proven what he is. He doesn't need that kind of deal. He is a solidified top 4 RD.

statistically? he's a defensive defensemen and one of the best in the league. if you call with anything below 6x6 i don't think the call is returned. this is why people need to stop basing their opinion off stats.

He’s not an offensive dman so traditional counting stats were never great and not a good barometer of his play. I will say he did have a rough start to the season by his standards but played really well until getting hurt in playoffs. I don’t think he’s going to get what he’s looking for but it also won’t be a short cheap deal. If for some reason he was looking for a prove it deal like that he’d have signed in CAR by now.

Doubt that gets it done for Pesce, probably more in the the 6M range to get Pesce with a lot more term. I also doubt Stamkos leaves TBL. It doesn't seem like TBL is posturing to do anything other than sign him, likely doing something like what Pavelski did with DAL, but I'd happily take him at that number.

I'd want to stay away from Burns. Nothing against him, but I just think at this point he is a bit too much risk for me, especially at the cost of Parssinen, who I think could help in solving NSH's situation at center to get Novak back to the wing. If I want a more offensively inclined defenseman I'd rather go after Chuychrun.

I'm a little puzzled by the Ferraro trade, I'm not opposed to it, but it goes a bit against what Trotz has been saying about targeting guys with more size and Ferraro just doesn't fit that bill given that he is no bigger than Fabbro.

Most Ottawa fans would say that there is enough LD on the team , Lauzon can play both sides and brings a high compete, physical element. I would do this trade for a 3rd and move Brannstrom for a 3rd or 4th.
