Marner is too expensive for the Kings, and their center depth stinks after this potential trade. They'd be better off signing Toffoli or a similar free agent to be offensively strong without losing Danault's 200-foot play or a cost controlled up and comer like Spence.

Thanks for proving beyond a reasonable doubt that the Marner-to-Los-Angeles idea is brain-dead and guaranteed to fail.

The defense is miles worse than the defense that just got overrun by Edmonton (Clarke for Spence isn't much of a downgrade while Clarke learns his craft, but Klingberg for Roy is astronomically worse and gastronomically revolting) and there isn't any cap space to acquire some grown-ups to make DuBois a contributing member of society. Imagine, for example, that instead of Marner, we had Byfield - Kopitar - Kempe, Moore - Danault - Arvidsson, and Trenin - DuBois - Fiala, with Spence instead of the Klingon. Moreover, giving up those two draft picks, and essentially taking a pass on this year's draft, is suicidally short-sighted.

But I'm sure that some of your Toronto brethren will keep touting this idiocy.

"Fits like a glove"?!?!?! Are you blind? The indisputable proof to the contrary is right before your eyes. As my esteemed friend @tryger says, keeping Danault and Spence and using the $5 million in available cap to add a free-agent forward to play with DuBois is a far better strategy than this undeniable train wreck.

What a breathtakingly atrocious idea, transferring the failed Toronto experiment to Los Angeles.

my statement had nothing to do with cap space. just the type of player he is. he would be amazing on a line with kopitar
