Description
My opinion of the best case offseason. Do I think all of these trades will happen? No. Do I think there is a chance of these trades occuring? Yes. With the two 1st round picks, I think the Flyers pick Berkly Catton and Carter Yakemchuk

Trades
1.
PHI
  1. Necas, Martin [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Philadelphia gets a winger/centre for their top 6. Due to trading Farabee, he would still fit in the top six even if he does not succeed as a centre.
CAR
  1. Farabee, Joel
  2. Grans, Helge
  3. 2025 1st round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
1st is the worst of PHI and COL. Carolina gets a winger for their middle six who is not overly expensive and has term. Could maybe replace Grans with a 3rd round pick.
2.
PHI
  1. Robertson, Nicholas [RFA Rights]
  2. 2024 5th round pick (NSH)
  3. 2024 7th round pick (OTT)
Additional Details:
Philadelphia takes a chance on Roberston, who hopefully can greatly improve with consistent minutes.
TOR
  1. Laughton, Scott
Additional Details:
Toronto gets cheap depth scoring help for the middle/bottom 6.
3.
PHI
  1. Kulich, Jiri
  2. Skinner, Jeff
  3. 2024 1st round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
Philadelphia trades back up to the top 15 and gets a young centre in Kulich. Despite the contract, Skinner could be a good mentor to the young wingers such as Michkov.
BUF
  1. Brink, Bobby
  2. Konecny, Travis
  3. 2024 1st round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
An extension for Konecny would be in place. The contract I gave Brink was arbitrary. Buffalo gets out of the Skinner contract while also getting an upgrade for the top 6.

Value seems fair across the board, my only issue are that the offense is *really, really* small as is so I don't think Robertson would even get a shot, and I'd probably ask for some retention on Skinner

The logic on that Leafs trade doesn't make sense. Why wouldn't the Leafs "take a chance" on Robertson who's younger and better and cheaper than Laughton?

Leafs have no cap room for Laughton; they decline.

Laughton could be a great case study for fans on this site; remember the delusional takes from many Flyer fans that insiders reported they turned down 1st round pick + (from multiple teams) 😂; it was all garbage - dude never was, isn’t and never will be worth a 1st round pick.

Philly giving up way too much, remove brink and the first. Honestly, I hear good things about brink, but the Sabres are loaded with undersized forward prospects, and there isn't room for the ones they have now. Not exactly doing him favors sending him to a team with savoie, ostlund, kulich, and rosen all competing for very limited spots.

That is fair. In hindsight, I probably should've put Brink in the Necas deal and take Grans out. The thing is Philadelphia has a lot of right wingers and at the moment, it seems that Brink might be the odd man out. Also, if I kept the first in, I probably would have made Buffalo retain some of Skinner's contract.

Take out FLA 1st would probably be ok with me. Like Ive always said, Im happy with Kulich and 11th. If you want us to take Skinner's contract, gotta be another 1st or prospect. Skinner would be a good winger leader for Michkov.

If Toronto can move on from some other contracts like jarnkrok and Kamph I’d do that in a heartbeat. Maybe would be a lot easier with 1 million retained. But that’s neither here nor there

Not gonna happen in reality though
Sabres aren’t looking to move Skinner, and he is unlikely to waive his NMC

Sabres aren’t giving up Kulich & the 11th pick though
And we can’t really add a contract like Konecny will demand
And we aren’t looking to move Skinner

It’s just not happening
